Privacy Policy ​

Mantra holds your privacy at its core. This policy explains how we handle your data across our different services.

Summary ​

Mantra Desktop App ​

  • All AI sessions, Git history mappings, and configurations are saved locally on your device.
  • Mantra collects anonymous usage statistics (such as app launch count and feature usage frequency) to help us understand which features are most popular. This feature is on by default. You can disable it anytime in Settings.
  • We never collect your code, session content, file paths, or any personally identifiable information.
  • You can disable usage statistics anytime in Settings.
  • Mantra connects to the internet to check for software updates. You can disable this in Settings.

Mantra Website (mantra.gonewx.com) ​

  • When you visit our website, we collect standard web analytics (page views, referral sources, browser type, operating system) to understand usage patterns and improve the user experience.
  • We use a third-party analytics service (PostHog) to process this data.

Add-on Services (Mantra Sync & Backup — Planned) ​

  • If you choose to use sync or backup services, your data is end-to-end encrypted (AES-256) with your key before leaving your device. The Mantra team cannot decrypt or view your content.
  • After subscription expiration, encrypted data is permanently deleted from our servers after 30 days.

Privacy Sanitizer ​

  • Mantra's built-in redaction tool runs entirely locally. The sanitization process involves no cloud computing.

Third-Party Services ​

  • Mantra supports integration with various AI models. When using BYOK mode to call these models, data transmission follows the respective model provider's privacy policy.

1. Information We Collect ​

1.1 Desktop App (Optional Telemetry) ​

When you use the Mantra desktop app, we collect the following anonymous data by default (you can disable this anytime in Settings):

  • App launch events (version, operating system, architecture)
  • Feature usage frequency (session imports, playback, skill imports, and other operation counts)
  • Feature types (such as import source type, watcher type)

We do not collect:

  • Code content, AI session content, or file paths
  • Project names or Git repository URLs
  • Personally identifiable information (name, email, IP address)

Telemetry data is associated with an anonymous device identifier that is not linked to any personal identity.

1.2 Website ​

When you visit mantra.gonewx.com, we collect via our analytics service:

  • Page view data and referral sources (Referrer, UTM parameters)
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region level)
  • Page dwell time and interaction data

1.3 Add-on Services ​

When using paid services, we collect information necessary to provide the service:

  • Email address (for account management and receipts)
  • Payment information is processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe). Mantra does not store complete payment details.

2. How We Use Your Data ​

Information we collect is used solely for:

  • Improving product features and user experience
  • Understanding feature usage to guide product development
  • Processing purchases and transactions
  • Sending important product update notifications

3. Data Sharing ​

  • We do not sell your personal information
  • Telemetry data is sent to PostHog (US data center) for aggregate analysis
  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe
  • We do not share your data with any other third parties beyond those listed above

4. Data Security ​

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS
  • Sync service data at rest is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256
  • We regularly review our security measures to protect your information

5. Your Controls ​

  • Telemetry: Disable anytime in Settings
  • Update checks: Enable or disable anytime in Settings
  • Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time
  • Data export: Your local data always belongs to you and can be exported at any time

6. Children's Privacy ​

Mantra is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Policy Updates ​

We may update this privacy policy. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notifications or email. We commit to never reducing the level of protection for information already collected without the consent of affected customers.
